MACUR, the Movimento de Assistência, Cultura, Urbanismo e Recreio, is a nonprofit association and Private Institution of Social Solidarity serving people across generations. Based in Rio Meão, Portugal, it supports children and young people while also protecting and assisting people affected by old age or disability. Its mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care and complementary services that contribute to community development, encourage solidarity and cooperation, and support continuous improvement.

For children, MACUR operates an early childhood center offering a crèche, preschool and CATL (a center for activities and care for school-age children). Its services for older adults include a Day Center, providing a place for social connection, companionship and leisure, and a home support service for assistance in people’s homes. The institution’s headquarters and children’s center are on Rua das Escolas in Rio Meão. Its Day Center is located on Rua Mestra Emília, in Cardielos, Rio Meão. Through these services, MACUR combines care, education and community support for different age groups.
