Madara is an open-source stack for building application-specific blockchains, or app chains, using Cairo and Starknet technology. Its goal is to support a more trustworthy “integrity” web by giving developers tools to create efficient, provable blockchain applications. The platform combines CairoVM with a modular architecture, enabling integrations and allowing teams to select components such as data availability layers, provers, and virtual machines to suit their needs.
Madara highlights Cairo’s design for zero-knowledge proofs, which can make proving faster and less costly, and says its chains can achieve hundreds of transactions per second. With Stwo, chains can also support near-instant composability with the base layer and other app chains, while batching proofs can help reduce prover costs. The project provides architecture documentation and invites developers to build and contribute; it says contributors are paid for their work. Madara’s open-source stack is used by teams working on projects including oracle solutions, full nodes, and rollup infrastructure. Its focus is flexible, high-performance infrastructure for blockchain developers.
