About Madaraja Foundation
The Madaraja Foundation is a non-profit organization established in June 2022, dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of women and girls in Mukono and its surrounding districts in Uganda. The name "Madaraja," which means "bridges" in Kiswahili, embodies the foundation’s mission to create essential health links and pathways for vulnerable populations.
The foundation primarily focuses on sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, and overall wellness. Through its impactful initiatives, Madaraja has engaged and trained private health facilities and providers, distributing vital health resources like DMPA-SC while reaching thousands with crucial information and services. Additionally, the foundation actively promotes community involvement and youth engagement in its programs.
By empowering women and girls, the Madaraja Foundation not only improves access to quality health information and care but also enhances their participation in income-generating activities, fostering a healthier future for their communities.
