Madayan Carpets is a Zurich-based retailer specializing in authentic antique, Persian and oriental carpets, with a collection spanning old and newer handmade rugs. Its online catalogue features pieces from regions and traditions including Persian, Caucasian, Chinese, Tibetan, Turkmen, Afghan, Turkish, Moroccan, Indian and Uzbek carpet making. The collection includes antique and semi-antique rugs, hand-knotted wool carpets, vegetable-dyed examples, and finely knotted pieces combining wool and silk. Some items are described as collector’s pieces, while others are noted for repairs or signs of wear, helping customers understand each rug’s individual character.
