MAE is a Barcelona restaurant founded in 2023 by three friends with a shared passion for gastronomy. Led by Mariella Rodriguez of Costa Rica and chefs Diego Mondragón of Colombia and German Espinosa of Barcelona, the team brings together different cultures and culinary experiences in a distinctive, creative approach. Its cooking combines local ingredients with a global pantry, placing the quality of the produce at the heart of a menu shaped by culinary tradition and cultural exchange.
MAE offers tasting menus, including the Menú Mae and Menú Gran Mae, as well as a menu à la carte and options for special occasions. The restaurant holds a Michelin star and aims to make dining a memorable experience shared around the table. Its interior brings together modern Barcelona influences and the fresh, natural character of Costa Rica, creating a relaxed setting.
Located on Sant Elies 22, MAE welcomes guests for lunch on selected days and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, with reservations available
