About Märklin World Titisee
Märklin World Titisee is a privately operated museum dedicated to the history and products of Märklin, the company founded in 1859. Located within the M-A-C art area in Titisee’s pedestrian zone, the museum welcomes visitors of all ages and presents more than 150 years of Märklin history across over 450 square metres of exhibition space. Its collection includes tinplate items, model trains and other products that illustrate the breadth of the company’s work across different eras.
Four operating H0-gauge layouts let visitors see model railways in action, using materials from various periods. The museum describes itself as the only private museum worldwide recognised by Märklin and is a member of the Museumsverband Baden-Württemberg. Owner Hans-Jörg Franz and the Kuhn and Franz families, together with their staff, aim to introduce younger visitors to the toys enjoyed by earlier generations.
The museum also shares news and press coverage through its website and social media, and hosts seasonal activities, including a Christmas market stand with mulled wine and waffles on Advent weekends
