About MAFF
MAFF (Malmö Arab Film Festival) is the premier film festival dedicated to showcasing Arab cinema outside the Arab world. Established in 2011, it has grown into a significant platform for Arab cinema in Europe. Founded by Mouhamad Keblawi, MAFF started as a grassroots initiative and has now become one of the largest film festivals in southern Sweden.
With around 80 features, short films, and documentaries from across the Arab world, the festival offers a diverse and engaging program. It includes competition sections, panoramas, special screenings, workshops, seminars, and celebrations. Additionally, MAFF Industry Days (MID) was introduced in 2015, serving as a collaboration and co-production forum for the Nordic and Arab film industries.
MAFF aims to promote diversity and tolerance through the powerful medium of cinema, fostering mutual understanding and breaking boundaries. The 14th edition of Malmö Arab Film Festival will take place from April 22nd to April 28th, 2024
