Magic Man Sportfishing

Magic Man Charters is a family-owned and operated sportfishing business based in Petersburg, Alaska, and has served anglers since 1990. Run by Captain Stan Malcom, the company offers full-service fishing trips in the protected bays, sounds, and straits of Southeast Alaska’s Inside Passage. These calmer waters provide a comfortable setting for experienced anglers and families alike.

Trips focus on salmon and halibut, with combination fishing sometimes available in August and September. Seasonal opportunities include king salmon from late May through June, halibut from mid-June to mid-September, and silver salmon in August and September. Charters take place aboard Capt. Magic, a 32-foot aluminum catamaran with a heated, enclosed cabin, seating for six, stand-up head facilities, and a spacious walk-around deck.

Magic Man provides bait, tackle, rain gear, fish-cleaning service, coffee, soda, and snacks. Guests should bring a fishing license, sunglasses, a camera, and lunch. Fish processing, freezing, and shipping arrangements are available through a local provider. Trips can accommodate groups, including parties of three to six fishing for several days.
