Magpie Alert

MagpieAlert is an Australian community-driven website that helps people stay informed about magpie swooping activity. Its interactive map brings together public reports of attacks and sightings across Australia, so cyclists, runners, walkers, scooter riders and local residents can check potentially risky locations and plan their journeys with greater awareness.

Visitors can filter reports by year, state, incident type, recency and whether an injury was reported. Recent reports include location details and contributors’ descriptions, while statistics provide a broader view of reported swoops and injuries. Registered users can submit sightings and attacks, receive local alerts, manage their reports and take part in the MagpieAlert community. Registration is free and available through a Google account or a MagpieAlert username and password.

The site also shares safety tips, stories, news and product reviews, including a review of the PieProof helmet. MagpieAlert describes itself as a free hobby project supported by voluntary donations, which help cover its ongoing costs.
