Mahalo Minis

Mahalo Miniature Horses is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Ewa Beach, Hawaii. Its mission is to provide comfort and support the health and well-being of people facing medical or other challenges through community outreach and interaction with miniature horses. The organization introduces its minis as gentle companions and sources of comfort, including Pua-Piper, Poi’nelopi, Pepe, and Tutu Roxy-roo; Pepe is currently in training, while Roxy is a veteran comfort horse.

Mahalo Minis’ outreach has included a “Get One, Gift One” coloring book featuring two of its miniature horses and the local community, with copies given to children, shelters, and other organizations. It also completed a Keiki Care Kit project, delivering nearly 100 kits to children at an emergency family shelter. The kits included snacks, practical items, a stuffed miniature horse, and coloring materials. The organization’s newer initiative, Mahalo Ke Akua Comfort Spreads, is described alongside its miniature horse and pickleball activities. Programs and horse-related work are carried out by volunteers, with support from donors and sponsors.
