Mahlogonolo Thobile Foundation

Mahlogonolo Thobile Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in November 2019 by Moshala Mothiba to support families navigating the unexpected experience of premature birth. Named after the founder’s daughter, Mahlogonolo, the foundation grew from Mothiba’s personal experience as a preemie mother and her desire to share relatable African stories and help other families feel less alone.

The organisation assists families with newborn baby essentials and offers connection and encouragement through its Preemie Moms’ Tribe, including an online support community. Its activities include prematurity awareness initiatives, hospital sessions that connect mothers of premature babies, and events for preemie families, such as picnics and fun walks. The foundation also conducts orphanage home visits and shares stories, experiences and information through its website and social media channels.

By bringing families together and creating opportunities to learn from one another, Mahlogonolo Thobile Foundation aims to provide practical support and a sense of community during the challenges of a premature baby’s hospital stay and beyond.
