Mailblob

Mailblob is an independent personal email service built around privacy, flexibility, and open internet standards. Its informal “serious mail, silly mascot” identity reflects a straightforward approach: provide dependable email without advertising, inbox scanning, or using messages to train AI models. The service runs on a small, independently operated setup and is described as personal rather than commercial.

Mailblob supports standard IMAP and SMTP, allowing customers to use email applications such as Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and K-9 without proprietary software or platform lock-in. It applies TLS transport protections on the paths it controls and supports SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to authenticate outgoing messages. Spam defenses combine Bayesian scoring, reputation blocklists, and greylisting, with filtering tuned per mailbox.

Users can host multiple domains on one mailbox set, with separate signing keys and policies for each domain. CalDAV calendar and CardDAV contact synchronization are also included, enabling access from compatible devices. Mailbox access is available through a webmail interface or a user’s preferred mail client.
