Mailwell is an independent Mac mail app designed to make managing email calm, fast, and private. It brings Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft 365, iCloud, Fastmail, Kagi Mail, FranklyMail, and other IMAP or JMAP accounts into one window. Mail stays on the user’s Mac, and Mailwell connects directly to email providers rather than storing copies on its own servers. Passwords are kept in macOS Keychain, and the app does not require an account or track activity.
The app offers unified inboxes, customizable reading layouts, search across accounts, rules, labels, snoozing, and quick message actions. Writing tools include saved replies, signatures for each sending address, Send Later, Undo Send, and calendar-based meeting suggestions. Additional features include inbox tabs, sender details, travel information, and sign-in code copying. Optional AI tools can use Apple Intelligence or a user’s own key.
Mailwell requires macOS 14 or later and offers a 14-day free trial. It is made by Luke Southwell-Chan, who provides support and ongoing updates.
