The Maine Public Health Association is the state’s oldest, largest, and most diverse association for public health professionals. We represent more than 700 individual members and 60 organizations across the state. As a statewide nonprofit association, we advocate, act, and advise on critical public health challenges, aiming to improve the policies, systems, and environments that underlie health inequities – but which also have potential to improve health outcomes for all people in Maine. We are not tied to a national agenda, which means we are responsive to the needs of Maine’s communities and we take that responsibility seriously.

About Maine Public Health Association
MPHA, the Maine Public Health Association, is a leading statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a healthy Maine through advocacy, education, community connection, and coalition-building. With a membership base of over 700 individuals and 60 organizations, MPHA is the oldest, largest, and most diverse association for public health professionals in the state. As an independent organization not tied to a national agenda, MPHA is responsive to the unique needs of Maine's communities and is committed to improving the policies, systems, and environments that contribute to health inequities.
By providing leadership in public health, advocating for local, state, and federal public health policies, offering public health training and education, and recognizing exemplary programs and leaders in the field, MPHA strives to improve the health and well-being of all people in Maine. Furthermore, MPHA has established partnerships with various public health organizations across the state and is affiliated with the prestigious American Public Health Association (APHA). This affiliation allows MPHA to collaborate, share expertise, resources, and advocate for common priorities at the local, state, and federal levels.
