Maison Littéraire George Sand is a forthcoming literary hotel in central Bordeaux, created as part of the Société des Hôtels Littéraires collection. Formerly the Hôtel Particulier, the elegant property is being reimagined as an intimate, immersive retreat inspired by the life and work of French writer George Sand. The hotel’s teams are developing a distinctive hospitality experience that brings guests closer to the world of literature. Reservations are expected to open in winter 2026, with updates shared through the brand’s social media channels.

The project reflects the collection’s broader approach: conceived by bibliophile and collector Jacques Letertre, its hotels celebrate major authors and invite visitors to rediscover the pleasure of reading during their stay. The group also operates literary hotels in Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen and Nancy, dedicated to writers including Marcel Proust, Alexandre Vialatte, Gustave Flaubert, Marcel Aymé, Arthur Rimbaud and Stendhal.

Bordeaux has a personal connection to George Sand: as Aurore Dudevant, she experienced a formative romance there, which inspired letters and a journal.
