About MAK
MAK Wien, also known as the Museum of Applied Arts, is a unique institution that seamlessly blends the past and the future. With its extensive collection, spacious exhibition areas, and themed special exhibits, visitors can experience the intersection of applied art, design, architecture, and contemporary art. Established in 1863 by Rudolf von Eitelberger, the museum occupies a historic building on the Ringstraße, which was completed in 1871.
This first museum on the Ringstraße was inspired by London's Victoria & Albert Museum. MAK Wien is committed to sustainability and aims to become carbon-neutral by 2030. The museum has been awarded the Austrian Eco Label, signifying its dedication to environmental protection and quality.
Located at Stubenring, MAK Wien is easily accessible by foot, bike, or public transportation.
