About Makaliʻi Metrics
Makaliʻi Metrics is a Honolulu-based soil testing laboratory serving farms, ranches, researchers, and conservation programs across the Hawaiian Islands. As Hawaiʻi’s first local soil lab, it provides testing calibrated for the region’s distinctive volcanic soils and crop systems. Local processing enables customers to drop off samples in Honolulu and typically receive results within 5–7 business days, without mainland shipping delays.
The Standard Soil Panel is currently offered for $75 per sample and measures macro- and micronutrients, pH, organic matter, and cation exchange capacity (CEC) to support crop planning and amendment decisions. The lab also offers custom packages for large-acreage restoration, including baseline carbon and nutrient mapping, as well as discounted rates and priority scheduling for operations submitting 50 or more samples annually.
Customers can arrange site visits for GPS-tagged sample collection and documentation, then access reports through a dashboard with actionable guidance and ongoing support. Makaliʻi Metrics serves specialty crop growers, agricultural operations, research teams, and stewardship projects, and is enrolled in NAPT while pursuing ISO accreditation.
