Makendoo is a creative workshop company founded in 1992 by artists Gabrielle Bradshaw and Katy English. With more than 20 years of experience, the team provides hands-on art activities and creative entertainment for children of all ages at festivals, shopping centres, fun days, corporate events and community projects. Its drop-in workshops accommodate large numbers, while smaller, closed sessions can be arranged for more complex artworks or group projects.
Workshop themes range from Jungle, Carnival, Pirates and Mermaids, Circus and Space to seasonal events such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas. Children can make masks, hats, puppets, cards, banners and other themed creations, using materials including recycled card, washable, child-friendly paint and biodegradable glitter. Paint-free options are also available. Makendoo can develop bespoke activities for specific events, as well as larger parade artworks and site-specific installations.
The company has a team of artists and workshop leaders who encourage children to explore their creativity and take home artwork they are proud of.
