Making Gardens Affordable is an owner-operated plant nursery in Rangiora, near Christchurch, founded by Marion. Beginning as a hydrangea stall at the Ohoka Markets, the business has grown into a full-time venture built around a simple aim: making quality plants accessible at affordable prices. Customers can browse and buy plants online or visit the nursery to see the selection in person. The website notes that additional plants are available on site beyond those listed online, and customers can contact Marion to ask about specific varieties or place an order.
The range includes hydrangeas, flowers, fruit trees and other fruiting plants, flaxes, grasses, ground covers, hedging, natives, ornamental trees, perennials and shrubs. Featured products include camellias, cherry trees, magnolias, olives, apples, pears, plums, peaches, nectarines and blueberries. Making Gardens Affordable welcomes visitors at its Flaxton Road location during weekday and weekend opening hours. The nursery offers a friendly, personal experience, with Marion available to help customers and farm animals on site to greet visitors.
