Malacology

Guoyi Zhang is a prominent researcher and educator in the field of malacology, blending a profound interest in mollusks with a minimalist approach to research and teaching. As a PhD student at the University of New South Wales and the Australian Museum, Guoyi specializes in the systematics, biogeography, and paleontology of terrestrial snails, particularly focusing on the infraorder Helicoidei and the family Camaenidae. His expertise extends to bioinformatics, where he develops software for phylogenetic studies.

With a strong academic background, including a Master’s in Research from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor’s degree from Shandong Normal University, Guoyi has authored several peer-reviewed publications that enhance our understanding of terrestrial mollusks in China. He actively participates in various malacological societies and has received multiple accolades, such as the Tony Whitten Conservation Award. Through his dedicated research and community involvement, Guoyi Zhang significantly contributes to the understanding and conservation of molluscan diversity and ecology.
