Malaysian Switchgear Distributors (Pty) Ltd supplies and supports switchgear solutions for customers across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. Since becoming the official South African agency for TAMCO Medium Voltage Switchgear in April 2010, the company has combined TAMCO’s manufacturing expertise with local supply, assembly and technical support. Its products include air-insulated switchgear rated at 11kV, 22kV and 33kV with withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers; gas-insulated switchgear at the same voltage ratings with fixed-pattern circuit breakers; and 11kV GR1 outdoor SF6 ring main units.
The company’s services cover panel building and assembly, supply and delivery, installation, cold and hot commissioning, maintenance, servicing and spare parts. It also offers dry ice cleaning, stock availability and 24/7 callout support through equipped service teams. Most switchgear manufacturing and panel assembly is completed in South Africa. More than 10,000 panels are operating across the region, supporting utilities, industry and infrastructure. The company states that its work aligns with the latest Occupational Health and Safety Act and emphasizes reliable engineering, safety and responsive customer assistance.
