Maling Productions

Maling Productions Pty Ltd is an independent Australian television production company established in 2007. It specialises in programs and advertising campaigns focused on Indigenous Australian stories, communities and culture. The company produces work for television and digital audiences, collaborating with clients including NITV, NRL, SBS, Community, Foxtel, government and CSA.

Its productions span documentaries, children’s programming, live sports coverage, community stories and public-awareness campaigns. Mugu Kids, made with NITV, is a children’s series whose name means “cheeky” in Yaegl language; the related Story Break series showcases Indigenous children’s book authors and their books. Custodians comprises 13 short documentaries, while Our Stories Our Way creates digital “song-lines” that share stories of life, history, elders, communities, youth and culture.

Maling Productions also makes The Barefoot Rugby League Show, a national program covering rugby league with an emphasis on Indigenous players, teams and championships. Its campaign work includes Tackling Violence and other domestic-violence awareness projects developed with regional rugby league clubs and government partners. Other productions honour Indigenous military service and community events.
