MALIPAI

Malipai, also known as the Matab ang Livelihood Project Association Inc., is a community-focused organisation working to enrich lives in the Philippines through education and vocational support. Based in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, it responds to limited educational and employment opportunities in disadvantaged communities by helping people build skills and pursue their potential.

Malipai offers tertiary scholarships for students who have excelled at school and want to continue their studies at college or university. Its wider programs include financial literacy training, job interview and presentation skills, and sustainability activities that teach participants to grow food. The organisation also supports small-business start-ups through enterprise development packages and offers a micro-finance program. In addition, Malipai manufactures eco bags using recycled materials.

These services aim to broaden local skills and livelihoods beyond low-wage labour. Supporters can get involved by donating, sponsoring students, or attending fundraising events, including the organisation’s annual garden party. Malipai also shares student stories, community updates, and photos and videos to help people learn about its work and opportunities to contribute.
