MAMA Community Foundation

M.A.M.A. Community Foundation (MCF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to advance maternal health equity and birth justice. Serving families across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, the organization provides free and low-cost support during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, with virtual education also available nationwide. Its services include childbirth education, doula care through the Community Doula Network, and lactation support. MCF aims to make compassionate, culturally affirming care accessible regardless of a family’s income.

Beyond direct support, the foundation creates opportunities for connection and collective wellbeing through Community Baby Showers, M.A.M.A. Meetups, and other community programs. It also promotes education, advocacy, and family leadership, helping people understand their options and rights and contribute to solutions that improve care. Families can connect through client intake, while volunteers and partners can support the mission by getting involved. Donations help sustain its programs and expand access to maternal support. Through hands-on care and broader education, MCF seeks to strengthen families and communities, reduce isolation, and ensure parents feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their birth journeys.
