About Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Primary Care Team
Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin is an Indigenous-led wellness organization committed to providing holistic health care and wellness programming to the residents of North Simcoe and Muskoka. Our name embodies the vision of community support; it signifies a collective effort where individuals are uplifted by the hands of many, representing diverse backgrounds and cultures. We address the health disparities faced by Indigenous peoples, particularly those moving to urban areas, by ensuring they have access to primary care teams and other essential health services.
Our offerings include a range of health services such as mental health support, addiction services, and culturally grounded Indigenous healing programs. We place a strong emphasis on family involvement, recognizing the importance of collective well-being. Managed by the Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle and guided by the Indigenous Health Circle, our services are designed to evolve alongside the needs of the community.
