Manaaki Ora Events

Manaaki Ora Events (MOE) is a tangihanga planning and support service dedicated to helping whānau prepare for and navigate the loss of a loved one. Its purpose is to educate and empower families about their options, ease stress and financial pressure, and support informed decisions during an emotional time. MOE offers assistance across the full process, from pre-planning to organising, event execution and aftercare.

Pre-planning support can help clients consider savings, funeral or life insurance, wills and documented final wishes, with whānau involved in the conversations. For organising and events, MOE connects families with catering and venue providers and offers affordable event resources through its own hire centre. During a tangihanga, MOE can provide 24/7 support and act as a main contact between the family and service providers, including funeral homes, lawyers and insurance brokers.

Aftercare may include help closing accounts, managing utilities and property ownership, or preparing a checklist for the family. MOE also connects whānau with self-care services such as counselling, mirimiri and beauty therapy.
