Stichting Manegekanjers met Pensioen is a Dutch foundation dedicated to giving retired riding-school horses and ponies a comfortable later life. It takes in animals that are too old for riding-school work but can still enjoy life without pain, and places them in a retirement home. The foundation covers their accommodation, farrier and veterinary costs, averaging about €450 per horse each month, while volunteers provide daily care and attention.
Donations go directly toward this work, and supporters can also raise funds through online purchases made via SponsorKliks. The foundation organizes activities for riders and horses, including photo sessions, seasonal campaigns and other events, with proceeds supporting the horses’ retirement. It also collaborates with riding schools and stables that can provide facilities for fundraising activities at no cost.
Supporters can follow the foundation on Facebook or subscribe to its newsletter. Through donations, participation and fundraising, Manegekanjers met Pensioen helps former working horses receive the care and peaceful retirement they deserve
