About Manim
Manim, originally developed by Grant Sanderson for his YouTube channel, 3Blue1Brown, has evolved into a versatile animation tool sought after by many. As the demand for Manim increased, Sanderson streamlined the installation process, making it accessible to a wider audience. The community edition, born out of a group of developers forking the project, now serves as the primary version documented on the website.
In 2021, Sanderson integrated the shaders branch into the main repository, now known as manimgl. The previous version, ManimCairo, has become outdated in comparison. Manim offers a plethora of features, from intricate animations to detailed thematic guides, making it a go-to choice for animators and content creators looking to bring their ideas to life seamlessly.
