About MANRS
MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security) is a global initiative supported by the Internet Society that aims to strengthen and secure the routing infrastructure of the internet. Insecure routing is a common vulnerability that can lead to malicious threats and network disruptions. MANRS offers specific actions for Network Operators, Internet Exchange Points, CDN and Cloud Providers, and Equipment Vendors to address these challenges.
By joining MANRS, organizations become part of a community committed to enhancing the robustness and security of the global routing infrastructure. MANRS provides guidelines tailored to each organization's role on the internet, including actions such as filtering, anti-spoofing, coordination, routing information publishing, and tools provision.
The initiative is governed by the MANRS Steering Committee, which oversees the application and auditing processes, develops conformance criteria, and selects ambassadors and fellows. MANRS also has a Community Charter that outlines guiding principles for its future governance.
Organizations can get involved in MANRS by joining, participating in working groups, becoming mentors or ambassadors, attending training courses or events, and contributing to the community. By actively promoting MANRS adoption, organizations contribute to a more secure internet for all.
