MAPP Institut

The MAPP Institute (Magdeburger Ausbildungsinstitut für Psychotherapeutische Psychologie) is a state-recognized, accredited institute for psychotherapy education and advanced training, based in Magdeburg, Germany. It focuses on behavioral therapy and depth psychology-based psychotherapy for adults, children, and adolescents. Its programs prepare participants for state licensure as psychological psychotherapists or child and adolescent psychotherapists, with three-year, full-time training courses that combine theory and supervised practical experience. The institute also offers a double-licensure pathway for qualified child and adolescent psychotherapists, professional development for licensed therapists and trainees, and additional qualifications such as group psychotherapy, hypnotherapy, and EMDR.

MAPP operates a psychotherapy outpatient clinic in Magdeburg and maintains a nationwide network of teaching practices and partner organizations, enabling many practical training components to be completed near participants’ homes. Training includes supervised clinical placements, practical therapy, supervision, and personal development. The institute provides in-person and online learning options, information events, and supports the development of the new specialist psychotherapy training pathway. It has cooperated with the German Society for Behavioral Therapy since 2005.
