Marco Dementia Respite

Marco Dementia Respite, also known as MDR – Your Brain Health Matters, supports people with early-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia and the caregivers who care for them in Marco Island and South Naples, Florida. Its mission is to advance brain health and wellness while providing compassionate services to families affected by cognitive impairment and related disorders.

MDR offers a no-cost, four-hour Participant Program with brain fitness, social interaction, shared memories, games and activities, chair exercise, crafts, animal-assisted therapy, and lunch. Caregivers can join a facilitated support program designed to provide a safe, empathetic setting for sharing experiences, gaining practical and emotional support, and learning about dementia care. The Memory Assessment Center provides comprehensive evaluations of cognitive and emotional health led by an experienced neuropsychologist, with findings supporting differential diagnosis, care management, and treatment planning.

The organization also hosts a Memory Cafe, shares brain health education and updates, and welcomes volunteers. Donations help sustain its services, while its website offers program information, events, news, and educational resources for the Southwest Florida community.
