Marcus

GOMAD Urban Art Studio is the practice of Dutch artist Marcus “GOMAD” Debie, a muralist and graffiti artist with more than 35 years of experience. The studio creates large-scale murals for building facades, tunnels, viaducts and interiors, as well as street art, public art projects and urban fine art paintings. Its work combines photorealistic imagery with surreal influences and bold graphic and organic elements, often featuring eyes, faces, hands and nature.

Each project is tailored to its setting, with designs developed in discussion with stakeholders and inspired by local stories and identity. GOMAD works with municipalities, governments, community groups, housing corporations, festivals and cultural organizations to transform public spaces and neighborhoods. Depending on the surface and scale, artworks are made using spray paint, acrylics or mixed media.

The studio has completed projects in countries across Europe and beyond, including the United States and Australia. GOMAD also offers an autobiography art book featuring selected graffiti, murals and paintings from four decades of work
