Maren Dessel

Maren Dessel Leder Design is a Cologne-based leather design atelier creating exclusive leather objects, bespoke pieces and restorations of high-quality bags. Led by leather designer Maren Dessel, the studio combines careful material selection, precise craftsmanship and a restrained design sensibility. Each piece is developed with attention to the character and movement of the leather, bringing function and personality together in objects intended to last.

The atelier offers individual commissions, a collection of leather designs and selected pieces, as well as specialist restoration services. Maren Dessel restores valuable and iconic bags, including Hermès Kelly bags, with respect for their materials, history and original quality. Services include appropriate cleaning and repair; a restoration featured on ZDF’s Bares für Rares involved cleaning a historic doctor’s case and fitting it with a new lining.

Maren Dessel has appeared as a leather and bag expert on the programme, where she demonstrated her eye for craftsmanship, condition and value. Based at Lübecker Straße 11 in Cologne, the atelier accepts enquiries about general requests, restoration and appointments.
