Margot Maakt βt is the food and catering venture founded by Margot Verstegen, whose work is rooted in a longstanding commitment to nature, sustainability and thoughtful cooking. After more than 30 years running a natural-food shop, Margot started the business in 2016, preparing food with organic, minimally processed ingredients chosen to reduce environmental impact. Its catering and baking services included vegan meals, dinners, cakes and treats, with options appreciated by customers managing allergies or avoiding ingredients such as sugar and wheat.
Since January 2025, Margot Maakt βt has stopped taking regular catering assignments and baking cakes, and its kitchen and cargo bike have been sold. Margot is still available for selected multi-day events at suitable venues with professional kitchens, subject to advance booking. She also continues to cook at De Moestuin Utrecht and Conferentiecentrum Samaya, where guests can enjoy organic vegan food prepared by her or her colleagues. The brandβs guiding idea remains that food can be delicious while showing respect for people, animals and the earth.
