Maria Banaszak

Pani od narkotyków is the professional and educational brand of Dr. Maria Banaszak, an addiction psychotherapist and science communicator. Combining extensive clinical experience with research-based knowledge, she makes complex topics accessible and works to challenge stereotypes about addiction, substance use, prevention, and recovery. Dr. Banaszak is a certified specialist in addiction psychotherapy and a cognitive-behavioural psychotherapist. She is director of the MONAR addiction treatment centre in Głosków, a representative of MONAR’s national board, and president of the Scientific Society of Addiction Psychotherapy.

Her services include tailored training on addiction, mental health, and communication; conference talks for professional and general audiences; and subject-matter consultations for media productions and educational materials. She also shares expertise through interviews, public appearances, and scientific and popular publications. Her projects include the co-authored book Hajland: How Our Children Do Drugs and Mixtape 420, created with Michał “Mata” Matczak to encourage discussion about addiction therapy and cannabis myths.
