Mariachi Las Adelitas UK, founded in London in 2013, is a pioneering all-female mariachi band that has broken barriers in a traditionally male-dominated genre. Comprising talented musicians from Mexico, Cuba, Colombia, Italy, and the United Kingdom, this vibrant 8-piece ensemble pays homage to the 'Adelitas'—fearless women warriors of the Mexican Revolution. With a repertoire that includes classic mariachi songs, original compositions, and contemporary arrangements in authentic mariachi style, they captivate audiences at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide.
Their dynamic performances have graced stages such as the Barbican Centre, Glastonbury, and WOMAD, and they have garnered acclaim from prominent figures like Cerys Matthews and Salma Hayek. Known for their diverse influences and engaging stage presence, Mariachi Las Adelitas continues to redefine what mariachi music can be while promoting empowerment through their artistry.
