About Mariner Space
The Mariner Space Institute (MSI) is an independent nonprofit research organization focused on strengthening the resilience of future lunar and deep-space operations. It brings together planetary science and aerospace engineering to address challenges in persistent space infrastructure, mission safety, and long-term exploration. Its research includes studying lunar regolith, geological history, and meteoroid impacts, and translating scientific findings into engineering requirements for durable habitats and spacecraft.
Through the ARMOR Initiative, MSI leads research into material resilience against high-velocity impacts and meteorite ejecta. The institute also develops cis-lunar positioning, navigation, and timing frameworks, supports lunar meteoroid observation through the ESA/ASI LUMIO mission, and investigates structural modeling and electromagnetic interference mitigation. MSI collaborates with government agencies, universities, professional societies, and industry partners, including NASA, the European and Italian space agencies, Texas A&M University, and the University of North Dakota.
It welcomes inquiries about joint research, ARMOR, and future planetary science and space operations. Its work is guided by scientific rigor, operational excellence, and a commitment to validated results
