Maris Equestrian

Maris Equestrian is a riding and training facility based in Templeton, Canterbury, serving riders in the Christchurch area. Led by head coach Nicole Finlay, an Australian and New Zealand rider and professional equine trainer and coach, the business focuses on helping people develop their horsemanship and become more confident riders. Drawing on more than ten years of experience, Nicole provides instruction for a range of ages, abilities and goals, from beginners and adults returning to riding to young riders building their skills and people preparing for horse ownership.

Services include private riding lessons tailored to each rider’s level and objectives, children’s lessons, adult coaching, and ground-based horsemanship lessons that develop understanding and communication between horse and rider. Maris Equestrian also offers horse agistment, arena hire, and off-site coaching and training options. The facility’s approach combines practical skill-building with a patient, supportive teaching style. Maris Equestrian states that it is currently not accepting new students. Its Templeton location is at 64 Maddisons Road.
