MARITTA ASMUNDI

Maritta Asmundi is an independent speech therapy provider offering assessment and rehabilitation for children with speech, language, communication, and literacy difficulties. With more than 30 years of varied experience and regular professional training, Maritta supports children whose speech or language development is delayed, whose speech is difficult to understand, or who have challenges understanding or producing language. Services also address interaction and communication needs, speech motor skills, and difficulties with reading and writing.

Therapy is provided individually in a familiar setting, such as the child’s home, daycare, or school, or at the therapist’s office. Sessions are conducted in Finnish and can include sign-supported speech and picture-based communication when needed. Treatment follows agreed goals and uses the GAS goal-setting and assessment method, together with researched and generally accepted rehabilitation approaches.

Therapy may be funded through a commitment from Kela for demanding medical rehabilitation, the Wellbeing Services County of North Ostrobothnia, or self-payment. Clients may also be able to claim travel reimbursement from Kela. Families can contact Maritta to ask about availability.
