Mark Lenn Johnson is an accomplished artist known for his exceptional work in glass and photography. His artistic journey began with a fascination for color, which he nurtured through the pages of comic books during his solitary childhood in Lexington, Kentucky. Over a decade ago, Johnson discovered his passion for glass after acquiring a vintage Fenton amethyst carnival glass bowl.

This captivating piece introduced him to the world of handcrafted art glass and led him to specialize in vintage art glass through his antiques business. Motivated by his creative nature, Johnson ventured into creating his own beads using polymer clay and later glass, under the guidance of renowned lampwork artist Laura Hallock. To deepen his appreciation for glass as a medium, Johnson studied kiln-formed glassmaking and glassblowing with esteemed artists Laura Hallock, Jon Stokes, and Brook White.

He also sought inspiration from master artists such as Ellis Wilson, Stephen Rolfe Powell, Dale Chihuly, and Sam Maloof, as well as his travels to various destinations worldwide. Johnson's work has been exhibited internationally and can be found in private collections across the United States and beyond. In addition to his glasswork, he has recently explored the realm of photography, creating stunning, temporary fine art images through techniques such as waterdrop photography.
