Raynes Art & Design Ltd is the Toronto-based studio of Mark Raynes Roberts, an internationally recognized crystal artist, designer, painter and photographer. Established in 1984, the studio creates hand-engraved crystal art sculptures and architectural glass, alongside award designs and commissioned works. Roberts is also a British-trained, award-winning goldsmith and a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers in London.
His work explores themes including the human spirit, equality, spirituality, diversity, the environment and hope. Using crystal’s reflective and refractive qualities, he creates intricate narrative landscapes inspired by nature, travel and human experience. His artworks have been presented to royalty, heads of state and prominent figures, and are held in public, corporate and private collections around the world. They include works received by Nelson Mandela, Muhammad Ali and Roger Federer.
Roberts’ exhibitions have taken place in London, Vimy, New York and Toronto, where the Gardiner Museum invited him to present a solo exhibition.
