Marla Quilts Inc. Textile Academy Beyond the Book

Marla Quilts Inc is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Lawrence, Kansas, dedicated to educating and empowering individuals through visual literacy. Central to its mission is the preservation and celebration of African American history from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond. Through its enriching community-based arts education programs, exhibitions, and public events, such as the National African American Quilt Convention, the organization fosters artistic skill development and enhances cultural awareness.

At the heart of Marla Quilts Inc is Marla Jackson, a prominent quilter and textile artist.
