Marsabit Botanical Garden (MBG), established by Galgallo Roba, is a pioneering initiative in Northern Kenya aimed at empowering communities through sustainable development and environmental conservation. Nestled on five hectares of land near Marsabit National Park, this unique garden focuses on the protection of indigenous plants and biodiversity. It serves as a hub for various activities such as ecosystem restoration, seed conservation, and ethno-botanical research.

MBG promotes farmer-managed natural regeneration and engages in community conversations to enhance awareness of biocultural protocols and agro-ecology. The garden showcases a diverse collection of indigenous trees, flowers, shrubs, medicinal herbs, grasses, and desert plants, making it a vital resource for local pastoralist communities. In addition to its conservation efforts, Marsabit Botanical Garden is involved in policy advocacy and climate action, striving to elevate the value of biodiversity and bio-trade. Through its comprehensive approach, MBG aims to inspire sustainable practices and foster a deeper appreciation for the environment among the people of Northern Kenya.
