Martha Stiftung is a Hamburg-based social welfare organisation founded in 1849 by Wilhelmine Mutzenbecher to support young girls from rural areas who were living in poverty. In 2024, the foundation marked its 175th anniversary. For more than 175 years, it has worked with people who need additional support, with services focused on older people, addiction and disabilities.
Its senior care and support options include service housing and senior apartments, home care, residential care, dementia shared living, temporary care apartments and support from SeniorPartner. Through Hamburg’s Addiction Therapy Centre (STZ), the foundation provides counselling, prevention services, a day clinic, specialist inpatient treatment and aftercare for people affected by addiction.
The Erlenbusch offers a home for up to 71 people with complex disabilities, supporting participation in daily life for children, young people and adults. Martha Stiftung also shares news and information about its work, and invites people to contribute through donations or join its team. Its services bring together practical support, care and opportunities for community participation.
