El Proyecto ENLACE une esfuerzos de la comunidad, el sector privado y el gobierno para mejorar la calidad de vida de más de 20,000 residentes de las comunidades aledañas al Caño, y rehabilitar este cuerpo de agua. El Distrito de Planificación Especial del Caño Martín Peña colinda con la avenida Ponce de León, al oeste; Borinquen, al norte; Quisqueya, al sur; y la avenida Barbosa y la quebrada Juan Méndez, al este. Incluye las comunidades de Israel-Bitumul, Parada 27, Las Monjas, Barrio Obrero Oeste, Barrio Obrero Marina, Buena Vista Santurce y Buena Vista Hato Rey. ENLACE recibió el premio Paul Davidoff para Cambios Sociales y Diversidad de 2008, otorgado por la Asociación Americana de Planificación, y el Premio Nacional de Logros en Justicia Ambiental de 2010, otorgado también al G-8 y al Fideicomiso de la Tierra por la Agencia de Protección Ambiental de los Estados Unidos, entre otros reconocimientos.

About Proyecto ENLACE del Caño Martín Peña
Proyecto ENLACE del Caño Martin Peña is a brand that aims to restore and develop the communities surrounding the Caño Martin Peña in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Under the umbrella of Proyecto ENLACE, three entities work together to drive physical, environmental, and socio-economic development in these eight communities. The G-8 Inc., in collaboration with its residents, has formulated strategies for implementing interventions that have been recognized and endorsed by the Plan for the Integral Development and Land Use of the Caño Martin Peña.
The project focuses on various areas, including environmental restoration, urban development, basic infrastructure, safe housing, and socio-economic growth. By reestablishing the connection between the Caño and the San Juan Bay Estuary, Proyecto ENLACE provides opportunities to rediscover the city, enhance cultural diversity, and improve the overall quality of life for residents. With the participation of a diverse group of allies, including universities, foundations, companies, and government agencies, Proyecto ENLACE is making a significant impact in revitalizing these communities.
