Massive Bookshop

The Massive Bookshop is an anti-profit, abolitionist online bookstore based in western Massachusetts, founded in September 2020. Defying conventional business norms, this unique bookstore prioritizes community support over profit, redistributing its revenue to mutual aid and community-building initiatives. With over $18,000 raised, the store specifically focuses on aiding those affected by the criminal justice system, partnering with local bail funds to help individuals avoid pre-trial detention.

Customers can browse a diverse selection of books and utilize the store’s “Massive Book Hook-Up” service to request titles not in stock. For those incarcerated, the bookstore covers shipping costs for books sent to jails and prisons, fostering education and connection behind bars. Operating from a compact fulfillment center, The Massive Bookshop emphasizes sustainability by minimizing overhead costs and maximizing community impact. Through their innovative approach, they not only offer a range of books but also nurture social change, inviting customers to engage with both literature and activism.
