About Mass Maple
Massachusetts Maple Producers Association is a non-profit organization founded in 1947, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of maple sugaring in Massachusetts. With regular members actively producing maple products or directly related to the maple industry, the association supports ongoing research into various factors affecting member farms, such as production practices, quality control, environmental concerns, land development pressures, and long-term tree health. Although no inspections are conducted, members are expected to adhere to state and federal standards regarding the production and sale of maple products.
The association disseminates information to members to help maintain strong quality control and offers assistance with specific problems as needed. They also represent the industry's interests to state and federal governments on legislative issues. Funded through a small commission on discounted containers and supplies, as well as membership dues, the association operates under the guidance of a nine-member Board of Directors.
They have a paid Coordinator, Missy Leab, managing daily operations and a library of up-to-date maple research publications. For any inquiries, feel free to reach out to them at 413-628-3912 or through email
