The National Mass Media Support and Development Public Foundation was established in November 2019 by a group of proactive journalists and bloggers in Uzbekistan. The foundation aims to develop the public information sector, protect the rights of media representatives, and support them financially. Since 2016, journalism and blogging in Uzbekistan have been rapidly evolving, leading to a stronger voice for media outlets.

However, addressing sector-specific issues and developing a unified strategy proved challenging. This prompted the creation of a public organization dedicated to protecting journalists and bloggers, leading to the establishment of the National Mass Media Support and Development Public Foundation. The foundation focuses on financial assistance, academic-technical support, legal protection, and fostering social partnerships.

Its primary goal is to create equal conditions for public media, further develop them, and protect the rights of journalists and bloggers. The foundation's core activities include implementing beneficial projects for the country's social and economic issues, enhancing the material-technical base, supporting journalists and bloggers, organizing developmental events, establishing partnerships with foreign organizations, training media representatives, and advocating for legislative improvements in the information field
