Matamata is a social-driven enterprise based in Malaysia, dedicated to empowering and supporting the Blind and Visually Impaired (BVI) community. Our goal is to ensure their independence and inclusivity on the web. Through the power of technology, we pursue three main initiatives.

First, we help BVIs create a side income by connecting them to freelancing opportunities. By leveraging their ICT skills, they can actively contribute to our country's growing digital economy. Currently, our focus is on providing video and audio transcription and translation services.

Whether you're interested in freelancing or hiring a freelancer from the BVI community, we have you covered. Second, we prioritize building accessible technology. Our Sightgigs platform connects aspiring BVI freelancers with remote work, ensuring equal access and opportunities.

In addition, our Matamata App, powered by AI, assists BVIs by reading images and facilitating connections with visually impaired and sighted users. Lastly, we advocate for the rights of the BVI community and Persons with Disabilities (PWD). We collaborate with other organizations and groups in the country, fighting for equal access to information and communication technologies (ICT).
