MCE serves disadvantaged children from Mathare informal settlement area and other slums form Nairobi. It targets children from poor backgrounds, those from the streets and those at risk of ending up as street children. MCE also serves children who were rescued from the streets and supports their education as a means of economic and social empowerment. MCE is guided by three important objectives Increasing access to basic education for the most vulnerable children in the community through the sponsorship program Improving the quality of life and poverty alleviation within the community. Promoting professionalism in MCE as a corporate body. At MCE we provide support for both accommodation (Includes meals and other essential needs) and educational support in different learning institutions. MCE currently supports 189 children. 85 of the benefeciaries, who are the most vulnerable, reside at our boarding facility in Ruai where they receive family based care, while the least vulnerable are supported from home.

About Mathare Children's Education
Mathare Children's Education (MCE) is dedicated to empowering children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Kenya through a comprehensive approach to education and personal development.
